Just War

The further a society drifts from the truth the more it will hate those who speak it.”
-George Orwell

During the Nuremberg Trials held after WW2 it was decided that the Nazi wars of aggression against other European nations to be a War Crime. German military officers were tried and hung for those crimes. The United States has engaged in many of these same type of offensive wars of aggression in recent decades. Many people feel we had justification for the invasion of these countries. Many Germans during WW2 also felt that they were justified in their invasions.

Many claim that preemptive war is justified under the pretext of “National Security”. In other words, committing a belligerent act of armed aggression and invasion against a sovereign state is justified because that sovereign state might decide to attack at some point in the future. Sort of like the “Pre-Crime” division in the movie “Minority Report” Any and all invasions of sovereign nations are easily justified under the pretext of “National Security”. A neoconservatives’ dream and the reasoning of a psychopath.

Any of the sovereign nations that the U.S. invaded in the last 20 years could have used the neoconservative’s “preemptive war” argument to invade the U.S. In every case it was blatantly obvious that the U.S. was planning to invade these countries, which would have made it perfectly legitimate to preemptively invade the U.S. In response, the U.S. could have used the “preemptive war” theory to invade these countries that are invading them. This argument could go back and forth in a infinite loop and as Spock would say, “it’s illogical”. This is one reason why many people feel that there is almost never a just cause for preemptive war.

What about Iran and their nukes? Iran is not one of the countries that the U.S. and it’s allies have invaded, so far. Therefore, Iran and their nukes do not apply to the arguments in this article. That is an entire article in itself.

What about the invasion of Afghanistan?Wasn’t that justified? There is a constitutional principle known as “Marque and Reprisal”, where during a predetermined amount of time, the Commander In Chief has the authority to hunt down and destroy, if possible, an enemy that has committed an act of war against the U.S. This does not mean a full scale attack and invasion. It means that if the U.S. had intelligence that the perpetrators of 9/11 were living in caves in Afghanistan, they had the constitutional authority to bring in a team and do pretty much whatever it takes to either capture and/or destroy that specific enemy. It’s obvious that this is not what the U.S. did. Instead, they used the 9/11 attacks and “terrorists in caves” scenario, as a pretext for full on invasion and occupation.

This is not being a pacifist. This is what a Commander In Chief with a sane foreign policy would do. If the U.S. would have implemented “Marque and Reprisal” instead of all out invasion, it would have saved thousands of American lives, hundreds of thousands of Afghan civilian lives and trillions of dollars of tax payer money.

The term “National Security” is similar to the term “extremist” or “racism”, in that they all three have been applied and used so extensively as to render them practically meaningless. By logic, if everyone is an “extremist” or “racist” than the meaning is diluted to the point where no one is an “extremist” or “racist”. By the same line of reasoning, if everything government does is done in the name of “National Security”, than nothing government does is for “National Security”.

If government policies continue in this direction, everything the government does will fall under the umbrella of “National Security” and censorship of the news by government officials will be mandatory and in direct violation of the First Amendment. Throw in the corporate attack on Free Speech via the Orwellian named Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the 1st amendment is as good as dead.

Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know.”
-JFK

There is no crime that cannot be justified in the name of “National Security”. Murder, wars of aggression, torture, kidnapping, spying and archiving of all electronic communications (both domestic and foreign), persecution and prosecution of political dissidents and whistle blowers, blatant violation of both domestic and international law, assault, unconstitutional confiscation of private property, etc, are all justified in the name of “National Security”.

Note: Obama, “the most transparent president in history“, has prosecuted more whistle blowers under the espionage act than all other presidents combined! The espionage act was put in place under the Wilson administration to protect “national security” during the propaganda campaign that coaxed the U.S. into WW1. Wilson campaigned to keep the U.S. Out of WW1 but like so many presidents before and after him, the minute he was elected he completely forgot his campaign promises. The espionage act was passed for no other reason than to silence outspoken critics of America getting involved in WW1. This war is a prime example of a “banker war”.

Since the invasion of Iraq (Act 1), war has become a morbid form of entertainment for America. It’s seen as a cross between a realty show and a video game. It would be one thing if it were only soldiers battling it out on the battlefield, but that is not the case. Millions of women and children who did nothing more than to be born in the wrong place and time have been killed or severely injured in these wars. The most effective way to create millions of potential terrorist is to kill and maim millions of innocent people.

This preoccupation with war in America accomplishes several things at once for the Establishment or Ruling Class. It keeps the people distracted while our Liberty is being erased and at the same time is used as an excuse to erase those Liberties. We’ve all heard the saying, “all wars are banker wars”. The international bankers and the myriad of corporations that they control profit massively off of every war.

War is a racket. It always has been… A few profit – and the many pay. But there is a way to stop it. You can’t end it by disarmament conferences. You can’t eliminate it by peace parleys at Geneva. Well-meaning but impractical groups can’t wipe it out by resolutions. It can be smashed effectively only by taking the profit out of war.”

Another important thing these wars accomplish for the Ruling Class, is it has allowed them to install a Western controlled, private central banking system in almost every country in the world. As of the year 2000 there were still a few countries left in the world that did not have a Western controlled central bank. Guess those countries.

I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916.

General Wesley Clark revealed in 2007 in an interview with Democracy Now, that in 2001 he was told by a high ranking Pentagon official working under Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, the U.S. plan to invade and take over 7 countries. They were, Iraq, Syria, Lybia, Somalia, Sudan, Iran and Afghanistan. It seems the U.S. is still working on Syria and Iran. These countries are among the last remaining who are not controlled by the Western private central banking system.

Since the U.S. went off the gold standard in 1971 and the Petro Dollar standard is collapsing as I write, many claim that there is nothing backing the U.S. dollar anymore. That’s only partially true because a valid argument can be made that, unofficially, the U.S. dollar is now backed exclusively by the threat of getting bombed into oblivion. But I digress.

If the war mongering neocons were capable of changing their perspective and step into the shoes of the people they are bombing and invading, they would understand the hypocrisy of their actions. Unfortunately most of these people are as hopelessly trapped in their view of the world as the people pushing “tolerance” via intimidation and threats of violence.

Imagine you, your family, friends and neighbors being physically and economically slaughtered for years (decades in the case of Iraq) as a direct or indirect result of the invasion of a foreign and far superior military force, claiming it is being done to spread “democracy” in your land. The hell that has been unleashed on the Middle East in the meat headed attempt to “spread democracy” is biblical. Here’s just one example of the type of psychopathic thinking that these folks are capable of. In 1996 Madeline Albright sat down with Lesley Stahl of 60 minutes and here’s what she had to say. Lesley Stahl: “We have heard that half a million children have died. I mean, that is more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?” Albright responds: “I think that is a very hard choice, but the price, we think, the price is worth it.” They are talking about how the economic sanctions that the U.S. imposed on Iraq resulted in the indiscriminate death of half a million children!

Ron Paul and many others claim economic sanctions are acts of war. It seems logical that if economic sanctions in Iraq resulted in 500,000 deaths, then economic sanctions absolutely should be considered an act of war.

The only people in the US who have a sense or idea of the indescribable horrors these people have been through are our brave young men and women in the military who have been in combat. I wonder how many people reading this article have seen a family member, friend or stranger decapitated, dismembered or disemboweled?. There is little doubt that if these horrors were broadcast every night on prime time TV, these wars would be over in a heart beat and troops would be on their way home in a week.

I suspect many military men and women may not appreciate what I have to say here and that is unfortunate because they are the ones who would benefit most from what is discussed in this article.

As mentioned above, the young men and women who serve in the U.S. military are the bravest and most courageous people in the U.S. I have enormous respect and admiration for these soldiers. My assertion is that most if not all of these brave men and women would never have joined the military if they were told the truth about their mission. If they would have been told that they are being sent to the Middle East to guarantee positive quarterly earnings reports for corporations such as Halliburton, Raytheon, Boeing, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, General Electric, etc; to protect poppy seed production in Afghanistan; to secure oil and mineral rights for certain Western nations and to install private central banks, most would never have volunteered.

Soldiers become the vehicles of evil when they agree to kill for leaders whose missions are based on lies.”
-Laurie Calhoun

Soldiers who participate in combat should be paid more than any other employee. $1500 per day would be a good starting pay. Paying soldiers what they are worth would assure a couple of things. First, we would never have a need to implement the unconstitutional draft again. And most importantly, it would put a much greater financial burden on waging war. So much so that it would prevent many wars simply because they are too costly. Perhaps this is one way to implement what Smedley Butler meant by “taking the profit out of war”.

Imagine if Russia had the US and Canada nearly surrounded with military bases and were arming so called “moderate rebels” to attack Canada. How would the US react? Of course the U.S. would be bombing these “moderate rebels” back into the Stone Age and rightfully so.

Now, simply replace Canada with Ukraine or Syria and swap the positions of Russia and U.S. and we have the exact scenario that is playing out in the Middle East right now. Russia is doing exactly what the U.S. would be doing if positions were switched. In fact, Russia has shown much more restraint than the U.S. ever would have shown.

The neocon cheerleaders, headed by John “Rambo” McCain and others, who have never met a war they did not fall in love with, are now beating the war drums to arm Syrian Rebels with surface to air missiles so they can shoot down Russian jet fighters who are attacking ISIS! Again, undeniable proof that the U.S. is ruled by psychopaths. If we want WW3 with Russia , this is exactly how we will get it.

But Assad is killing his own people“, we’ve been told. That is the story that has been spread via the corporate media in the West. However, the Syrian, Russian, Chinese and several Western European news agencies all claim it was the Western supported rebels that gassed the civilians. Several UN observers, author Seymour Hersh, Doctors Without Boarders and many other independent organizations and reporters have all reporting that it was the Western armed “moderate rebels” that killed the civilians with the chlorine gas, not Assad or the Syrian army. Dozens of witnesses on the ground near the attack site, were interviewed and claim that it was the anti-Assad, Western backed rebels who are responsible for the poison gas attack. These witnesses also claim that it was Saudi Prince Bandar who supplied the gas to the rebels. Guess who supplies Prince Bandar with his chemical weapons.

Exactly a year to the day that Obama made his “red line” speech, threatening Assad with retaliation if he were to use chemical weapons, is the exact day that Assad supposedly chose to use chemical weapons to kill at least 200 of his own people. The epitome of stupidity for Assad would be to do this very thing that would guarantee an attack by the U.S. and NATO. What possible good could come to Assad for doing such an idiotic and barbaric thing? Assad may not be a saint but he is not suicidal or stupid. The only group that those gas attacks could possibly benefit are the Western backed “moderate rebels”.

The truth is that it’s nearly impossible to really knows what is going on in Syria. It is an absolute mess. There are several different “Rebel” groups being funded by who knows who. Russia, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the U.S. and now China are all involved. And to top it off, one of the Western backed “rebel” groups has now morphed into what is being called ISIS or ISIL.

This group, ISIS, suddenly emerged on the scene precisely when a new boogey man was needed to justify an attack on Syria. Hmmmm? They drive around in brand new Toyota pickup trucks, completely tricked out with the latest military hardware, have state of the art website graphics and professionally produced and created marketing/propaganda campaigns that would make a Hollywood producer jealous. They also seem to be able to go anywhere they please, in broad daylight, with zero fear of being bombed while they film their videos.

They also go around chopping people’s heads off, crucifying them, throwing them off buildings, burning them alive, chopping their arms and legs off, raping women and girls, etc! Most of the people being killed are Christians. I want to know where is the outrage from the corporate media!? Where is the outrage from the churches on this!? Is it now considered politically correct to commit genocide against Christians? The outrage over a dead lion was near infinitely greater than the outrage over the apparent genocide of Christians in these most horrific manners. It’s a guarantee that if it were any other sector of society that was being mercilessly targeted and murdered by ISIS, the reporting from the compromised corporate media would be non-stop 24/7. What’s going on here?!!!!!

The U.S. may be giving lip service to fighting ISIS, but the only person who seems to be doing something about these atrocities is Vladimir Putin! Which brings up the next subject.

Why is it that Russia was able to do in 3 days what the U.S. could not do in 2 years? Namely, put the hurt on ISIS. There is little doubt that the U.S. has the mightiest military on the planet. So what gives? Are U.S. military leaders simply staggeringly incompetent? Or, is it possible that the U.S. military is intentionally not targeting ISIS? You decide.

Of course the people don’t want war. But after all, it’s the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it’s always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it’s a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger.”
